Generally speaking, we have a 30-day Return Policy. Please read details below.

1) Inspect contents upon arrival! Notify SDS Co. (DISCOUNTscales.COM) VIA E-Mail or CALL TOLL-FREE (1.866.737.2253) within 5-business days (M-F) if shipping damage evident or if the instrument appears to be working improperly. (Frequently, these incidents are categorized as "Out Of Box Failure" claims, and we will immediately address your concern)

Claims of defective or damaged (in transit) merchandise must be made within this 5-business day period. If product fails to operate properly after the aforementioned 5-business day period, repairs are conducted under the rules & provisions of the respective manufacturer warranty. (Please refer to the operator's manual for warranty specifics)

Under no circumstance, unless directed by our representative, should a product be returned to SDS Co. (DISCOUNTscales.COM), supplier, or the manufacturer without a "Return Goods Authorization #" (RGA#) ** (Receipt of unauthorized returns will be shipped back at customer expense) {Customer does not incur shipping charges (to & from our facility, contract facility, or factory) when making AUTHORIZED returns (when/if a product defect/damage is verified by our representative). Return shipping compensated @ the current/prevailing 'GROUND' shipping rate only, regardless of original shipping method.}

** 2) All returned merchandise typically require an 'RGA#', which is issued either by the manufacturer or DISCOUNTscales.COM/SDS Co.. The RGA # must appear on the exterior shipping box. (Please do not label RGA# on product box itself) Original shipping materials (ie: styrofoam inserts, box, operator's manual, etc.) must be included with returned product. Please contact us to obtain the RGA# or if you have any questions. Product must be received clean, (without stains, blemishes, marks, organic or inorganic debris) &/or any outward indications of tampering or abuse. All warranties are typically void if determined by manufacturer that product was used in a manner inconsistent with normal operating function.


3) DISCOUNTscales.COM/SDS Co. not responsible for billing/shipping product that was incorrectly ordered (customer error) either via online, telephone, or Fax, or mailed in. (ie: "I really meant to order a different model" or "I only meant to order one scale, not three!") If customer feels they may have ordered a product they did not originally intend to order, it is the customer's responsibility to contact DISCOUNTscales.COM before product ships.

4) DISCOUNTscales.COM/SDS Co. not responsible for shipping delays caused by reasons outside the control of the carrier, such as, but not limited to, "acts of god", terrorism or war, incorrect or invalid shipping address, inacessible roads/thoroughfares, and can not credit full or partial shipping fee caused by such. Additionally, DISCOUNTscales.COM not responsible for product that is improperly delivered or misrouted by carrier. (ie.: delivered to wrong address, even though properly addressed) In such cases, which are extremely rare, a trace will be conducted by the respective carrier to determine cause. All products are shipped insured, and any shipping/delivery-related claims are conducted within the context rules & provisions of the respective insurer/carrier.

(NOTE: A (lost)shipment 'trace', albeit rare, can sometimes take several days to conduct. We apologize for any inconvenience a trace procedure may cause, however DISCOUNTscales.COM has no control over carrier delivery functions/procedures). Typically, when a delivery delay is determined to be caused by the carrier, Shipping cost refunds can only be issued when the product was shipped via a time-definite method such as '2nd DAY AIR' or 'NEXT DAY AIR'. on delivery delays determined to be cause of carrier unless product was shipped via a time-definite method such as 'Next Day Air'. If a shipment is considered "lost" by the carrier, replacement product can only be shipped (unless a new order is placed) after our claim with the carrier is settled. The time period required to complete a filed claim differs widely. The issue may be resolved within 1-week. Depending on the specifics of the case, it may take up to 4-weeks to settle a claim. if determined the merchandise has been deemed unrecoverable, customer will NOT pay shipping charges relative to the lost order. However, when the delivery occurs, & the carrier's driver determines it is safe to leave shipment on the porch, etc. withOUT a signature, liability falls with the carrier and/or customer. It is the customer's responsibility to provide a shipping/delivery address where someone is available to sign/authorize receipt of said goods! DISCOUNTscales.COM cannot accept responsibility for product(s) stolen (or unaccounted for) @ delivered address, (or at any point after product ships from our facility or contract facility).

5) Refund or exchange issued based on the following '30-day Return' guidelines:

Original shipping cost non-refundable & a 20% restocking fee may apply on unopened or opened packages. NO refunds on opened packages. Exchanges typically allowed on opened or unopened packages, however a 20% re-stocking fee may incur and product must be returned in exact condition as originally shipped. {If product is returned in less than "new" condition, we reserve the right to refuse the return OR assess a more expensive re-stocking fee (at the discretion of SDS Co. or any of its suppliers and/or manufacturers)} Additionally, the customer is responsible for return insured, TRACKABLE shipping, and product must be received back to us (or supplier) within 30-calendar days of invoice date.

6) No refunds on special factory orders or orders shipped outside the United States. Exchanges typically allowed on opened or unopened packages, however a 20% re-stocking fee may incur. Product must be returned in exact condition as originally shipped. Customer responsible for return insured trackable shipping, and product must be received back to us (or supplier) within 30-calendar days of the invoice date. Original shipping cost non-refundable.

7) Orders cancelled after product ships subject to aforementioned refund/exchange policy.

8) Select products that include GIFT CARD incentives are typically mailed to the customer's 'Billing Address' within 4-6 weeks after order is placed. ONLINE "UNadvertised Specials" that offer Gift Card, shipping cost reduction, or any other free gift w/purchase incentive valid only when offer is made. (If a product is returned for exchange or refund, DISCOUNTscales.com reserves the right to impose charges for the discount/incentive offered at the time of sale. For example, if a product is ordered (& subsequently returned), and 'Free' Shipping was offered at the time of sale, our regularly published shipping rate will be imposed. Another words, the refund or exchange will result in a charge to the credit card, PayPal account, or other form of initial payment) ONLINE purchase typically required unless specifically authorized by one of our customer service representatives. If an offered gift is out of stock, SDS Co. reserves the right to substitute with an equal valued item. No cash allowance given.

9) Undeliverable or refused shipments incur 20% re-stocking fee. Original shipping cost non-refundable.

* Aforementioned stipulations valid & pertinent to transactions within the United States only. Sales from outside the United States may not be protected by manufacturer warranty and all subsequent (return-related) shipping costs are responsibility of the customer.
